Red Funnel Easter Regatta
21-23 March 2008Early in the racing season, this popular regatta runs over the Bank Holiday weekend and is an ideal opportunity to tune up boats and crews.
RIBEX
9-11 May 2008RIBEX is the world’s only boat show dedicated solely to Rigid Inflatable Boats. The event represents a unique opportunity to target a highly concentrated audience of open boat mariners both private and professional. The show’s mission is to promote the awareness and use of RIBs in all sectors of the marine industry and to stage a true show in every sense of the word.
Vice Admirals Cup
30 May - 1 June 2008Organised by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, the Vice Admiral's Cup offers an antidote to the high pressure and complexity of modern regattas - racing is run on a level-rating, first past the post basis and is complemented with laid back social events.
Anglo Irish Bank Regatta
9-10 June 2008Now in its third year, a very successful event that provides the opportunity to race in First 40.7s - a class that offers the perfect combination of simplicity and performance with the capacity for up to 8 guests and 2 crew.
IRC Championship
13-15 June 2008The annual IRC Rating National Championships run by the Royal Ocean Racing Club.
Quarter Ton Cup
16-18 June 2008This regatta was resurrected in 2005 and proved to be such a popular event that it's now in its 3rd year. Open to all old IOR Quarter Tonners, but now run under IRC, the event is hosted by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club.
Round the Island Race
28 June 2008The annual JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, organised by the Island Sailing Club, is one of the most popular fixtures on the Solent racing calendar. Starting on the famous Royal Yacht Squadron line in Cowes, competitors race westabout following the 50 mile course round the Isle of Wight.
Rolex Commodores' Cup
29 June - 6 July 2008Biennial, international team event organised by The Royal Ocean Racing Club, together with Rolex, that was first held in 1992. A tough mix of inshore and offshore races compacted into a challenging 7-day racing schedule on the testing waters in and around the Solent. IRC (Endorsed) handicap system with three rating bands.
British Classic Yacht Club Regatta
21-25 July 2008A popular regatta for the British Classic Yacht Club which was formed to bring together owners and enthusiasts and promote the ownership and enjoyment of restored and replica classic yachts throughout the UK and across the world.
Skandia Cowes Week
2-9 August 2008 Cowes Week is one of the most famous sailing regattas in the world and is organised by the Cowes Combined Clubs. The event attracts crews of all ages and abilities and the Solent is a great test of sailing skills. The week is supported by a busy day and nightlife programme with shops, live entertainment, food, bars and a spectacular fireworks display on the last Friday night.
Beneteau Cup
14-17 August 2008This event is known for the balance of its racing, organised by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club and Ancasta Boat Sales, and its social programme.
Cowes-Torquay-Cowes Powerboat Race
22-24 August 2008The Cowes-Torquay-Cowes powerboat race is one of the great endurance events, and a true test for boats and pilots, in powerboating history and will return to the summer sporting calendar in 2008. P1 Management will work closely with the British Powerboat Racing Club and RYA to ensure that the 2008 event is a resounding success.
Little Britain Challenge Cup
11-14 September 2008This annual regatta is organised by and for the construction industry and is the largest corporate regatta in Europe. Whilst the Little Britain provides an action packed racing and social calendar over 3 days, it also raises funds for its chosen charities with over £150,000 being donated from the 2005 event.
