Cowes Week 2012 takes place from 11-18 August but there’s lots of exciting racing planned in the Solent in the lead up to Cowes Week and July will be particularly busy with two World Championship regattas (for 8 Metres and 12 Metres), the Panerai British Classic Week, a regatta for Oyster yachts, Commodores’ Cup (with new sponsor Brewin Dolphin), the J Class Regatta (that includes the 1851 Hundred Guinea Cup Race around the Isle of Wight on 21 July), and the Super Yacht Cup, a regatta that’s been carefully planned to immediately precede the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London on 27 July 2012, and the start of the Olympic sailing races in Weymouth on 28 July.
