Sailing events around the IOW 2017
The sailing season really starts with the first event - the IRC Nationals on the 23rd June. Quay Management have properties that can accommodate couples to large groups. No matter how big your crew is we can help. Properties are hand picked and are selected on their proximity to marinas and event viewing areas. IRC Nationals – 23rd – 25th June
Well over 400 sailors from all over Europe will gather in Cowes this weekend for the annual three-day event on tight Solent courses. Some scintillating close encounters are expected for four classes organised by tight rating bands. The sizeable fleet boasts close to 20 yachts that are past or present competitors for the Brewin Dolphin Commodores' Cup. Winning class at the RORC IRC National Championship is extremely tough and class victors will savour that moment for years to come.

Round The Island Race – 1st July
The Round the Island Race is sailing's answer to the London Marathon as around 16,000 sailors and 1700 boats, crewed by some of the biggest names in sailing as well as keen amateur sailors, skim past The Needles, the Island's distinctive rocky structure, round St Catherine's Point and Bembridge Ledge and back into the Solent. All of this making the Round The Island is one of the largest yacht races in the world. Find accommodation for this event
Hosted by the Royal Yacht Squadron, the regatta has attracted a number of international entries from 8 different nations. Racing will all be located in the Solent which has a reputation for its testing tidal conditions. The Royal Yacht Squadron will be hosting this year's Swan European Regatta in conjunction with Nautor's Swan. Founded back in 1851 and steeped in sailing history, the Squadron is known as one of the world's most famous Yacht Clubs, inside the stunning setting of Cowes Castle.Find accommodation for this event
Panerai British Classic Week – 8th - 15th July
Every year, in July, Cowes on the isle of Wight, and the world renounce waters of the Solent play host to the most important event in the United Kingdom for classic yachts, part of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge since 2001. Panerai British Classic Week is the premier yacht regatta in the UK. The regatta is an occasion for classic boat enthusiasts to enjoy great racing and to spend time with other sailors who share the same appreciation of classics. Find accommodation for this event
Cowes Classic Week – 17th - 21st July
Cowes Classics Week is all about racing traditional yachts on water and enjoying fabulous social events ashore. Metre boats, Classic Racing Dayboats, Classic Yachts, Old Gaffers and Spirit of Tradition Yachts are all welcome to sail varied courses set in the Solent with free high teas, great value parties and suppers at different club venues. Cowes Week –29th July - 5th August
Cowes Week has played a key part in the British sporting summer calendar since 1826 and is one of the UK's longest running and most successful sporting event. It is a week-long celebration of yachting based from the Isle of Wight town of Cowes. Everything from small yachts with 2 - 3 crew through to ocean racing yachts with crews of up to 20 will be there racing on the Solent. It is the south coast's event of the year, with a shore based carnival atmosphere to rival any. This year the Farstnet Race (6th August) starts immediately after Cowes Week. Fastnet Start – 6th August
Since it began in 1935, the Rolex Fastnet Race has grown to become on of ocean racing's greatest events and along with Rolex Sydney to Hobart and the Rolex Middle Sea Race is one of the top three offshore races in the world. The Rolex Fastnet Race takes competitors across 600+ miles and up to five days battling the wind and tricky tidal conditions to the Fastnet Rock on the Southern tip of Ireland. Three hundred yachts take part in the bi – annual Fastnet Yacht Race. Farstnet competitors head west down the Solent and out through the Needles, past the major South Coast headlands, Anvil Point, Portland Bill, Start Point, and Lands End bedore rounding the famous Fastnet Rock and returning via the Scilly Isles before finishing in Plymouth.Find accommodation for this event
Little Britain Challenge Cup – 14th - 17th September
For over 28 years Little Britain Challenge Club been bringing together thousands of properties and construction industry professionals through sailing. Participants have helped raise over a million pounds for sailing charities that do extraordinary work for the less fortne society. It's is a fantastic way to socialise, network, team build, and, most importantly, get on the water. Find accommodation for this event
SB20's – 20th – 23rd July
The Royal Yacht Squadron is to host the SB20's World Championships in 2017. The Solent provides challenging sailing conditions for this truly international class. Find accommodation for this event
